Introduction
This tutorial is intended to help with the first steps into working directly with the TSM database for the SQL illiterate administrator. We give a brief overview of the table structure and introduce some basic queries that might be helpful in the day to day administration. Check out the Advanced Tutorial for more complex queries.
Like almost all Relational Databases, TSM stores information in tables. Each table is identified by a unique name and divided into cells that can be addressed using columns and rows. The Activity Log, which you can access through the TSM Command "q act" or via the Web Interface by clicking "Object view -> Server -> Activity Log", is stored in one of those Tables.
